Personalized Golf Lesson - Cindy Lamb
Cindy's lifelong love affair with the game of golf began at 13 when her dad cut down Grandpa’s old clubs and got her started. He insisted that she begin at the driving range and practice green to learn the mechanics of the game. Her entré to an actual course was as his caddy. His goal: learn the etiquette of the game before ever actually playing on the course. Cindy learned the “traditions” of the game, very old fashioned some would say, especially by current standards. This was before the days of ready golf, beverage carts and bluetooth golf carts – all welcome additions today!
Competitively, Cindy played as a junior golfer around Cincinnati, and as the only girl on the high school golf team. As Founder and President of the Miami University Women’s Golf Club, she led her team to compete in NCAA events. After college, Cindy played in a variety of competitive events including the Florida State Am, the Cincinnati Met, and the US National PubLinks. In addition to great instruction from her dad, she had lessons with two Cincinnati greats: Marty Kavanaugh, Master PGA Professional, and Carol Johnson, UC Golf Coach and LPGA Teaching Hall of Fame member. Cindy has worked to incorporate the best of their methods in her teaching techniques For 10 years, she managed golf courses for American Golf Corporation, then worked another 7 years as an independent golf rep, golf event planner, and golf management consultant. During this time she successfully completed the PGA’s Business School. Cindy also spent 8 years teaching business at the college level.
Cindy's passion for all things golf extends to teaching, and she has 15 years experience teaching golf lessons at a variety of clubs, most recently Legendary Run GC. “I love helping people enjoy the game more. Usually that means just working with their natural swing and helping them shave some strokes off. My philosophy is to keep it simple and have fun!” While you will work on the strategy of the game, you'll start with the mechanics. Cindy's philosophy is to build muscle memory through drills, so be prepared; you will have homework after every lesson!
